The lost shoe

On my way home from Shiba Koen, a solitary right shoe. In good shape, freshly polished, just missing its owner. Not the first time I’ve encountered this particular type of Tokyo Debris either. Shoes left on trains? Yep. Random footwear (either – not usually both) scattered over streets and sidewalks, just about everywhere. This one is politely placed in the gutter, just where the sidewalk changes direction…..was it removed in a selfless act of bravery as the owner dutifully followed the path? Keep guessing folks.
