The seasons like clockwork

Japan merchandises its seasons just like the West does its religious holidays. So right now we’re sitting under vast swathes of cherry blossoms, drinking Kirin & Asahi beer, from cans decorated with plum & cherry. Some of us are sitting on special ‘hanami seats’, or perhaps the ubiquitous ‘blue sheet’. It’s the floral festival that announces Spring. I couldn’t help taking a few snaps along the way:
