freelens experiment

I’d been meaning to have a go at this for a while, and the mood caught me today. Freelensing simply means freeing the lens that is captive on your slr. by simply holding the lens in front of the hole where it normally fits on the body, you can introduce random lens distortion, extremely shallow depth of field, blurring etc. rather like the popular ‘LensBaby’, but using your own lenses. took my son to the barber’s today, used a 50mm F1.4 AF, and D300. set to manual exposure prior to dismounting the lens, which was manually focused. lots of room for experimentation….
